Second lot of jabs

Feeling a little nervous about my LO having their second lot of jabs this week. We were fortunate they didn't spike a fever or fall ill after the first lot. But I keep reading and hearing how babies are more likely to fall ill after the second lot of jabs and I'm really scared. I know how important it is for them to get their immunisations, I just hate how they will get upset, cry most likely and not understand why they feel the way they do. I just want reassurance that everything will be okay and even if they fall ill they'll be okay.

My baby had hers last week and she was good she just wanted the attention and to be held during the day but she’s fine at night Give calpol 1 hour before you go and it should help and decreases the risk of a fever

Big hugs Mama. Unfortunately nobody is able to give you that reassurance, there are risks and there are benefits, so it’s up to your good judgement to decide what’s best for your little one. Always trust your gut, if you are feeling uneasy then you can talk through your concerns with your healthcare provider, or better yet delay them while you do some additional research to confirm you are comfortable with your decision. Another option is to space them out so bubs little system is not overloaded all at once. Best of luck.

Gotta think a couple of days of discomfort is better than the illnesses they help against

Oh man I feel you, it’s so tough to cause them pain, even when you’re doing it for their own good - I cried the first few rounds for my little girl (I think my tears lasted longer than hers…) My paediatrician let me nurse her immediately after, and she really forgot the discomfort within seconds, then just fell asleep. She did have a very mild fever that evening, but it passed quickly - we never even had to give her calpol. They’re astonishingly resilient for such tiny creatures… Best of luck!
