HG is the absolute worst

About 8/9 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and the HG has been absolutely horrific. Also hate waiting for a date the 1st scan so bad …. I am so inpatient. I’ve also very weirdly lost the ability to control my own body temperature and I am always cold the only way to get warm is in the bath 🥶

I'm 29weeks tomorrow and still getting sickness with my first so unbelievable hard

It’s such a horrible condition. Had it with both my pregnancies and we’re done now. Can’t do it again to myself/ my family… my only advice is to get help as much as possible and as soon as possible. Ask friends and family for practical help and educate people about what HG is. Take time off work if you need and get medical help (antiemetics, fluids, thiamine if needed) and emotional support (talking therapy/ peer support). Pregnancy Sickness Support (UK) and Her Foundation (USA) are amazing charities Offering advice, peer support and counselling.

It seems that there not a lot that can be done. And people aren’t concerned if you can at least drink then that seems fine. I’m so so so tired I can’t do any of my normal stuff. I have a 4 year old ASD. I just about mange to get him to school in a morning this week. How am I meant to carry on with life like this ? 😔😔😔

When I was pregnant last time with my daughter I had HG and diabetes. Lost 65 lbs in total. With this one I am 15 weeks and lost 14 lbs so far. No HG or diabetes just severe food aversions. They just prescribed me Unisom and B6. Said it’s supposed to help with it but will also make me drowsy and help with my pregnancy insomnia.

I had HG with my daughter and people, even in the medical field, are so uneducated about it. I spent most days in the hospital even with my scheduled infusions 3 times a week. Id throw up black. If you get very bad like I did, ask your doctor/insurance for a wearable iv pump to help you daily at home. You can also hire nurses to come to your house to administer iv bags (I think this can be provided through your insurance but if not you can pay out of pocket if within means). Please hang in there
