Wow... I have a feeling someone cursed you 😳 so sorry you're going through this, it sounds unbelievably stressful and I don't have any advice outside of, whenever you get a job again make sure you take income protection insurance
@Shimaya right! Unreal
Like were you laid off? How did you lose them? Can you get unemployment until you figure something out? What did you each do for a living?
@Jen yes laid off. He’s an electrician and I’m a project manager I think we can get unemployment but I have no clue on how that works
Are you in the US? So many of my friends have been laid off this year. Scary how many. Makes me nervous. I hope you guys are able to land new jobs soon 🤞🏼So stressful
Look into digital marketing
I would apply for unemployment.
Definitely apply for unemployment. Hope things get better for you both.
@Shelley yea in the US. It’s horrible right now
Also try to get into tiktok shop and Amazon affiliates
Any savings or investment you can rely on for a bit? Sorry that happened to you, I can't imagine the stress
@Shayla thank you sooooooo much!
Food bank!
I totally understand how you feel. We were in the same situation 2 years ago, but without kids, with little savings and 1 car with monthly payments. I encourage your husband to try Thumbtack app to get clients for electrical work/ handyman work (paying for leads, but he can start working for himself and have his own business). You can try Amazon flex or some delivery services while you are waiting for unemployment and another great opportunity! It’s not the end of the world! This is just new opportunity for you guys! 🙏 Been there, done that! Praying for you! Everything will be fine. Sending love 💕

@Marina thank you ❤️❤️❤️
There’s def resources out there, but if you’ve been laid off or fired from a company apply for unemployment through the state ASAP if you’re planning to. It takes a little time to get rolling but it helps.
You can go apply for food stamps and tanf and wic while you wait for unemployment to kick in.
You can call 211 for a list of resources to help with rent or utilities. Also if you're having a hardship you should be able to pull from your 401k with out penalties.
I won’t repeat what others said so new things: -if you have credit cards, apply for financial hardship through them so your payments will go lower -make sure you check the cap on unemployment for your state. You may or may not receive the cap based on your income, but you won’t receive over the cap. For instance NJ (where I am) max income from unemployment is $875 weekly. Unemployment ends automatically after $22,750 is given to you because it is a temporary program. -Let AI fix your resume. Honestly most HR dept’s use AI to read yours so you’ll benefit yourself by letting AI fix yours.
How?!??
