Vaginal or c section?

I’m a first time mum to be and had a long journey to get here. I am considering asking for a c section - the thought of complications with vaginal makes me so anxious. Any advice on vaginal vs. C section? Is the c section recovery as bad as they say?

i had a emergency c section with my boy as his hart rate went low, it was fast recovery around 2 week till fully back to my normal self's. there pos and cons to both you just need to do what best for you x

I would suggest doing your research. Statistically the risk of complications is higher with a C-section as it's a major abdominal surgery.

I was in labour 46 hours before having an emergency c section and it was the best outcome ever. My c section (Spinal block) was so lovely, pain free and I was awake the whole time. I was up moving within 12 hours and my recovery was insane, I almost felt back to normal straight away but obviously take it easy as you are still healing and it’s so important to not overdo it. I’d recommend a c-section 10X over, although it is different for everyone xx

@Leanne I had it for the same reason and also felt back to normal within 2 weeks, first 4 days were the hardest. I was cleaning my shower after a week already but got really sweaty and tired 😅

I’ve had 3 babies 2 vaginally & my last was c-section. C-section was scary asf n I would never opt for a c-section personally I’ll take vaginal delivery every day. Especially bc for breastfeeding ur milk doesn’t come in as fast with a c-section I struggled for my milk.

i had an emergency c section with my little boy, i was induced on the wednesday morning two weeks ago and that evening i had lost my waters and went a whole 24 hours with no progress in dilation and had completely lost my waters, little boys heart rate was dropping rapidly and mine was rapidly increasing with every contraction so ended up having emergency c section! the recovery in the first week was awful everytime i coughed/sneezed/stood up but second week - im out the house on small walks (longer walks tend to hurt my back and where my wound is) but im just taking every day as it comes!! hope this helps <3 good luck lovely xx

Thank you everyone for sharing! Does anyone have experience with multiple c sections? I worry about having another for a future child and if they cut into the same scar or elsewhere. I know it can be risky to have vaginal after c section in case the scar opens. Trying to get as much info as possible :)

@✨Wis 🇭🇹 thank you!

Every birth story is different and so many are genuinely positive experiences. I had a simple 9 hour labour and vaginal birth on just gas and air after 8cm. I tore a little but it didn't matter an ounce once she arrived. Trust your instincts and do what you feel your body needs.

I would aim for vaginally because if a complication occurs, you can always get the c section
