C-section and going to the toilet

I had a C-section on the 25th and still haven’t gone for poo since! Has anyone else had the same? They didn’t prescribe me laxatives so will try and get some from the pharmacy tomorrow? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah it was about a week for me when I started going tiny bits, a couple weeks before it got more ‘normal’. I bought lactolose

You can buy laxido over the counter, I took 3 a day to help me go! Whilst you are there get some windeze aswell as the trapped wind will come next and it is so incredibly painful xx

I don't think i went till day 4 after my section. It's really normal to not go for a few days afterwards. I did take a laxative to make it easier though as i was so scared as it felt i was going to pop open 😂 you can get laxatives from any chemist and i second above about getting something for the trapped gas, peppermint water worked wonders for me

Took me about a week to first going toilet and I was taking laclulose, I also tried peppermint oil and drinking peppermint tea. The worst part was the trapped wind and how gassy you get following 🤣 It was scared to pass wind and go toilet in case my opened up my scar, but also it was like my body forgot how the function worked lool

I got some sachets prescribed by my GP after contacting them about this same problem as I wasn’t given anything to come home with and the dihydrocodeine makes constipation worse again

I took lactalose, I think it took around 4 days before I went!

Yes try and get some stool softeners. Because the first few poops are very difficult to pass. I made sure they gave me lactulose before I left the hospital. You can get it over the counter I believe. I used fybogel after my first birth which you can get from the supermarket, it did help but made me super gassy.

For me it was day 5 and I will not lie it was the worst experience of my life! Even after taking the meds from the hospital, even now 17days post I still am not back to my normal although it is getting better.

I was prescribed lactulose defo try get something prescribed also eat foods high in fibre and be sure to drink plenty of water

I found that peppermint tea helped me. Not hot but a warm drinkable temperature. I had a couple each day.

I had my poo on the 3rd day after Cs drinking coffee in the morning
