Genetics also. I had a small baby, but I did everything I could. Also if the blood flow to the placenta isn’t great.
Genetics definitely is one. Blood pressure being poorly controlled can do it as well - at least that's the working diagnosis for me. If you've been referred for a growth scan/to fetal medicine, I'd really recommend taking to your consultant at your appointment. The list is long but there is likely to be something that makes most sense for you and your baby
@Emily they don't know the cause as of yet.. But I am worried about the health of baby
mine was born 10lbs, no gestational diabetes and hardly kept food down due to having HG, so for mine it was very likely genetics (despite being on opposite ends of the percentiles) good they're being checked though
I’m not sure tbh my son was 6lb 6oz and I was 8 days over due, with my 2nd pregnancy my midwife has prescribed me aspirin to take x
I just grew small babies. No complications or anything, just both my girls were small all the way through. Arrived at term perfectly formed with no issues.
Gestational diabetes caused our baby girl to be 1.5 percentile at 38 weeks
This a question that should be asked of your Obstetrics team 😋
IUGR (intra uterine growth restriction) is one of the medical causes I'm aware of.
