Sore and feel stuck

I just came back from a week off. I come to the gym 3-4 days a week and do legs, push and pull. And I’m starting out slow. But I just feel like I’m stuck and there’s soreness in my back and upper body that I don’t know how to get relief. Would a massage or stretches or what would yall suggest?! TIA!! 🤗

When I am sore, I rest those muscles and eat plenty of protein. Stretching can help, but the most important thing is to let them recover

@Vanessa I do rest. I’ve been doing legs Monday. Push Wednesday, and pull Friday. And eat a lot of protein. I just don’t know if I can do anything different or what to do other than stretching or something. Or just have to work through it.

How long have you been working out for?

Consistently, this will be the 3rd month. But I’ve missed a couple weeks because of being sick but sometimes still went but sometimes took a week off.

I've been working out for long years, and it's difficult for me to get sore, I would have to intensify the exercise or the weight. If you are new to working out, it would take longer to recover, and your body is not used to

Roll out and stretch after every workout! The muscles you work should be the muscles you roll and stretch.

That makes sense. I think I’m just beating myself up because it’s so many years of not caring and it’s not going to change over night or within a month.

How long should a stretch be? 5-10 mins?

A massage always makes the world of difference to me! It’s painful at first because all the knots have to be massaged out but after I feel so much better

Thats what I’m thinking. Our gym does them. I’m thinking of doing one. But also I’ve been sick with a head cold so I’m thinking it’s body aches from that and also I find our bed is to stiff, but my husband doesn’t so I might have to get a memory foam mattress.
