Tired mama

My 11 month old is a terrible sleeper, and by terrible I mean she wakes every 20 min-2 hrs. If I’m extra lucky I’ll get a single 2-3 hr stretch once a week or so. I am the only one that wakes with baby since I am a sahm and my husband works, but even on his days off he doesn’t help because baby likes to be breastfed back to sleep. She isn’t feeding for hunger though, more so just using the nipple as a pacifier since she rejects all bottles and pacifiers. I am not interested in sleep training her, but I just want to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Anyone else gone through something similar? How long did it go on?

Mine is 16 months and we’re the same although he’s getting better very slowly. We still have nights where he wakes up every 30-60mins like a few times a month at least. but it’s generally got better. We tried sleep training but it didn’t work so that was £400 down the drain. I’m happy to share what the sleep consultant advised if you’re interested, just send me a message. It’s all based around gentle sleep training x

Heya I’d love to hear what was suggested! I’m so sorry it was so expensive and didn’t work 😭

What wake windows are you using? That can have an effect on things. If a baby is dependent on something to put them to sleep, it’s understandable why they need it when transitioning through their sleep cycles…. So yes it can get better once they know what to do (which is essentially what sleep training is…). Some babies may figure it out but you find many don’t unless we actually show and guide them what to do. From experience, babies who sleep well are those that have sleep skills :)
