Vitamin K shot for circumcision

Vitamin K has nothing to do with circumcision

@Abby they say they won’t circumcise without the baby getting vitamin k shot

They can't choose that. Both my babies were circumcised and didn't get the vitamin K shot

Most hospitals won’t let you circumcise without the shot. Our pediatrician said they could refer us to a dr to do the circumcision a week or so after the birth to avoid the hospitals shot mandates.

Baby’s natural levels of vitamin K are highest at/around day 8. This is when it’s recommended to circumcise

We did it a week after birth. My dr said as long as is +7 days after, the baby should have his own supply of vit k . He was just fine afterwards, we did end up doing vit k orally twice after the circumcision but never did the shot.

Please reconsider, mama. There are zero reasons to circumcise a baby. It’s unnecessary, extremely painful and alters function of their body without consent. The foreskin is meant to be there. If you have questions or concerns, maybe I can help you with those.

I have two boys, both circumcised. We did the vitamin k shot with the first but not the second. I've also heard that there is an oral vitamin k option so if it's something you're concerned about you could look into that! Hope that helps ❤️
