@Megan that was similar to my experience the first time. I had an emergency one too and was there for almost 3 days. I'm really hoping it's different this time since I know what to expect this time around
My scheduled C-section I was scheduled at 830am but they took me back an hour early… but I was there for 3 days… and me and my baby were healthy no complications.
I was scheduled to be there at 6:30 am had the surgery at 8:30 & left two days later with no complications or anything with me or Baby. It all just depends on how fast you are able to get up and move and be able to pass gas at least that’s what they told me and making sure there are no complications with you or Baby.
my first one i had a emergency c section and was there for 5 days and my second was a planned and i was only there for 2 days exactly :)
I had my daughter at 11:30pm Saturday and was out 8am Monday. You might be able to leave the day after your c section. The only reason we stayed that long was because baby needed her 24 hour check up and then there wasn’t anybody there to discharge me until the doctor came in the next morning.
I had my c section after trying for over 6 hours. Horrible experience lots of blood loss due to me pushing for too long. I stayed 4 days at the hospital but needed help getting out of bed for about a week
baby was born tuesday at 5pm and i was discharged friday at 9am. i was trying to get home as soon as possible as well, i kept asking what i had to do to get discharged. my doctor said he usually would keep his patients an extra day but i was doing good enough to be discharged. i wasn’t letting up i wanted to get home to my toddler 🤣
I stayed for about 3 days after mine.
My most recent scheduled c-section which was May 2023, they wanted to discharge me around the 24 hour mark. I chose to stay for 2-3 days until I was ready to go home because it was easier in the hospital and it was a major surgery.
I had an emergency c section. Baby was delivered 2:30 am Sunday. I was discharged Tuesday afternoon. They kind of wanted to keep us until Wednesday but we insisted and I proved I could walk around without assistance. Baby and I were both cleared by all the doctors that came in to see us (anesthesia, pediatrician, obgyn, etc).
