Anyone's had a stitch on labia?

I'm in absolute agony 5weeks post partum. It's just not recovering. Anyone else have this??? Just need advice. The hospital have turned me away 3 times in row with the advice of it will take time bla bla. They have given 3 different courses of antibiotics to help even though I have no infection.

I had bilateral labial tears and it took until about 6 weeks pp to even start feeling remotely okay. I was taking paracetamol and ibuprofen the whole time, sitting on ice packs, using a peri bottle every time I went to the toilet, and air drying myself. It was agony, but it honestly did just take time. I'm sorry I can't be of more help for you, it really does suck and I genuinely felt like something was wrong with my stitches until all of a sudden it got better. I'm now pretty much 8 weeks pp but honestly it's as if it was overnight it all healed. I hope you feel some relief soon

Hey! Also had labial tear and confirm it did take a while to heal. Again like above, I used a peri bottle every time I would go to the toilet, air dry, change my pad very frequently etc. Be careful how you sit down - take it slow and gently. I found that I was having shooting pains up until very regularly (6 weeks pp). Unfortunately it’s just one of those things that we have to deal with. Stock up on pain relief, and ask for help from partner/family/friends where possible to ease your workload. Hope you heal up soon!

@Chloe @Lucy how did you both manage to sit down? Feeding baby is like my skin is being super duper stretched. The pain is next level. I just can't believe this is!

So I tried a doughnut pillow so there wasn’t any pressure - as I also had an episiotomy and an additional 2nd degree tear. It didn’t always help, and I’d find that I’d have to readjust myself every 20mins or so.. but it was better than nothing. I dosed up on max pain relief - take paracetamol and ibuprofen at different intervals. I.e paracetamol every 6 hours starting at 12pm, and then the ibuprofen every 8 hours starting at 3pm - it just allows you to be dosed up all the time. Sorry there isn’t a magical answer to this - I promise it will get better .. but I know in the moment it’s awful.

I was sitting on ice packs most of the time, and not sitting directly upright. I found being a little slouched helped me especially while feeding because then I wasn't having to unlatch my boy to readjust myself. But as Lucy said, unfortunately there isn't a magical answer but it honestly does get better, just keep pushing through it. You've got this!
