I’m currently in the same boat, my work said to return back full time 40 hours, but I would also then be spending more than half my wage on childcare as we have no family close by🙈 and I also don’t want to be doing 40 hours with a little one
@Sammi Congratulations, that's fantastic news you have manged to find a job that works so well for your family xx
@Shannon It's so tough figuring out what to do isn't it? X
@Isabella it really is x
@Isabella I was so stressed beforehand though as I knew I didn’t want to go back to my current job and they wouldn’t allow me to do 2 days, which is all we get free with childcare. I’d end up so skint paying for an extra day a week in nursery and my fuel to get to work in the complete opposite direction! Honestly you do what’s best for you and your little family! If you don’t want to go back full time then don’t. No one can force you. Just make sure if you do leave, you don’t owe them anything. I was solely mat pay so I’m lucky that I can just resign. I know some places give you benefits of full pay etc for 6 months etc, so you have to return for a few months or you’ll have to pay some back xx
I’ve just resigned whilst still on maternity. I managed to find a part time evening job which works perfectly for us, so I don’t have to stress over childcare now ☺️ xx
