Potty training help

Sounds exactly as my son, I don’t know what else to do

I kept trying different things and nothing ever worked she would use the potty for a day and then not bother, she started nursery in January, I got her a peppa pig rewards chart with stickers for when she was ready and for the past two weeks she’s gone to the toilet on her own back, she just got up one day and said I want the toilet and she’s doing amazing. She does ask for nappies sometimes but I explain now she’s a big girl and she’s doing so well with the toilet.. I think it’s a mixture of seeing other kids at nursery using the toilet and just leaving her be to when she’s actually ready as I thought she was beforehand but obviously not x

Have you tried the method where you have them naked on their bottom half? The problem these days is nappies are so absorbent that they have no idea when they’re going for a wee as they feel dry straight away. This method lets them actually feel the sensation of being wet, and they start to associate the feeling of needing to wee with using the potty. You need to have a solid 3 or 4 days at home with no other plans and watch them like a hawk. You only use a pull up at bedtime and naptime if they’re still having naps. I did the Big Little Feelings potty training course but I think the Oh Crap book is the same method and that seems to work best for the majority of people.

When I first tried I stripped my little boy naked from the waist down .. didn't work, he hated it .. so I left it a couple of months When I tried again I put him in pants had loads of accidents the first day but as the days went on it got better .. but I will admit I used chocolate buttons as a reward .. so if he did a wee on the potty he got 1 button but if he did a poo he got 2 buttons ... Seemed to work quite well to be honest ..... Now he's in pants all the time but is still in a nappy at night time as we haven't mastered that yet
