Is MyGym or Gymboree worth it?

So I finally got out of the house and took my little dude to a MYGYM week trial. He LOVED it. Way more that I expected. My boyfriend signed us up But when I checked the price and it is ridicules! And this is coming from an AllStar cheer and tumbling coach. I know how expensive things can be for kids but the classes are practically self ran with a guide. No one is letting their baby just run free into the hands of the workers. We all monitor our babes closely if we aren’t holding or assisting them. I understand for a little older kids like 3+ they require more work on employees. This is by no means to say they don’t deserve good pay. Im just so conflicted on signing him up to go only once a week for an hour at $150 a month…. Gymboree is less expensive but has no trial other than a drop in class for the price I paid for the week trial.. is there somewhere else that is similar, clean, and worth it. Or do I just need to take it or leave it. For this much I can bring him back to the cheer gym I coached and run a class instead all while charging less and get paid! 😫

Depending where you're located you could check out your local parks & rec classes to see if they have something similar. I just started taking my 1 year old to kindergym at our community center. It's $9-$10 per class for an hour of play. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a full gym but it's definitely entertaining enough for my LO 😅 I'd say the price you gave would be okay once they're older for the exact reasons you gave, but it seems unnecessary for the super young ones IMO.

I tried MyGym and hated it. I have a 10 month old and she was the youngest. It was basically a rec center and hella kids. They rush through all the "activities" too. If you are close to The Little Gym, I'd recommend that. I took my baby when she was 5-7 months and it was an actual gymnastics class, learning skills, not just "play time." It's just as expensive but I felt i got my money's worth

We did Gymboree for my son 6 months through 3.75 years. We had a few months we stopped due to nap schedule, but he loved it. He only recently stopped doing the class activities and said he was done with it.

We do MyGym in Buena Park and we’re never leaving until our son is too old to keep going. However, the staff team is what makes a place worth going or not. We loooove the people at our MyGym but I recommend trying different programs and finding where you click the most with the staff

I would also try some more local type classes. I take a mommy and me Pilates class, the babies get the play and I pay like $30 a month for the classes. You can probably find something more reasonable in price from a local/mom and pop type place

Like the place I take my classes also have like baby/toddler dance classes (which I’m probably going to enroll my daughter in when she’s old enough), daddy and me classes, mommy and me dance classes.

We go to a MyGym in Vista and we’ve been going since my son was 8-9 months. He’s 18 months now and I think it’s fully worth it, and he loves it. We pay $129 a month.
