Might look different at each age! We loved our pack and play, however I felt the mattress part was a bit thin. The extra mattress insert you can buy on amazon are worth every penny! When my daughter was 4 months we started traveling more so the baby wrap was soooo essential. It’s washable so i literally baby wore in the pool, it kept the sun off her skin and kept her cool and wet. Another silly pro
Product we use a lot is a silicone table mat, it helps use keep her food off a table top at a restaurant and makes for easy clean up. Pretty sure we got ours on Amazon for $5
It depends for how old the baby is. For car rides, oof I dunno. We’ve done quite a bit of long road trips and most of them suck if he isn’t asleep. So it completely throws off his sleep schedule if he ends up sleeping alot of the car ride. I’ve heard of people driving at night for this reason. Stopping every two hours to feed, diaper change, tummy time etc makes the trip SO LONG. But I do recommend doing some tummy time every time you stop. It helps offset the opposite position when they’re in the car seat for so long. We found it works best too, to have one of us back there with him. So he knows we’re still there and can comfort and play with him. Also having rotating toys and books or animals to look at is nice as well. I’d bring a small thing of laundry detergent and stain spray to help the occasional blow out. Sometimes travelling can mess a lot of things up.
Also don’t trust the hotel mini fridges for breast milk storage. Ive lost ALOT of breast milk this way. I’d bring a Bluetooth thermometer. So you can monitor the temp and know exactly that it’s where it needs to be. Sometimes those fridges don’t stay cold enough, I’ve had some randomly shut off, etc
The ceres chill has been PERFECT for breast milk traveling storage. ALSO, if you do bottle and breast milk feeding, I’d do as many bottles as you can. So you can ensure baby drinks more milk and won’t need as many pit stops which can cause over an hour long at each stop. These are all things I’ve learned from several 8+ hour long drives. And are our personal preferences
Don't forget a thermometer and Motrin
And depends how long you’re gone for, your nail trimmer! Our 5 month old still scratches the crap out of himself.
Sterilizer bags for any bottles and pacifiers, they just steam them in the microwave. For the car ride, there is a tried and true song that calms babies down, especially when mom sings along, "The Happy Song" by Imogen Heap
Motion sickness medicine age appropriate for ur child
What age is the baby, what do you define long with a baby. I’ve taken a 2 month old 6 hours away and my 1 year old has been taking long car trips (6 hours) I’ve done practically every age since 2 months to 1 year now.
Following this I am also leaving with my 6 month old in two weeks. We are flying out to Texas.
