Dilapan-S

Hi, I’m being induced next week at 39 weeks due to having excess fluid which was picked up at my latest growth scan & am having dilapan-s when being induced. Has anyone had these before & had positive stories/experiences from these as I’m a little anxious with this being my first! Thanks 🥰

You’ll be fine don’t worry as long as you’re near your due date

What level was your water at. Xx

@Rearna I was last checked last week & they said 9.2 xx

No experience with Dilapan-s as it’s a UK thing I believe but wanted to say make sure they checked your water level again right before inducing. It sometimes goes back to normal.

@✨Wis 🇭🇹 thank you!

@Megan oh really mine was at 8.8cm at 31 + 3 days xx

@Rearna she’s also measuring big as well xx

@Megan how far are you girl xx

I was induced last week at 38 weeks with the dilapan rods. Had them in for 18 hours and baby was born 17 hours later via VBAC. Very happy with my experience x

@Sharla ahhh great thank you! Hope you’re both doing well 🥰 xxx

I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons via dilapan rods, whilst they were inserting them they accidentally broke my water I was already 1cm dialted at the start and the dilapan rods had stretched me to 2cm when the accidentally broke my waters so then they just took them straight bk out so the whole induction lasted all of 40 minutes because the main goal is to break ur waters. The allowed me to progress over the next 10hrs however I developed an infection and had to have an emergency c section but the medical team were absolutely amazing and so supportive, honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience give the situation. But the actual induction itself was just uncomfortable but tolerable u can ask for gas and air whilst they do it if u want xx
