@Becca this is my second baby. My daughter came early and had difficulties during birth. Ok so it could just be phoning for a birth plan 🤞
@Anne-Marie yep, quite possibly. I didn’t expect the phone call appt at 14 weeks, but that’s all it was about; she talked about last time, and potential plans for this time. I would be surprised if it’s for any potential results; they would just call you out the blue x
@Becca thank you. That helps ease my worry a little. It seems like a very poor system though to send this letter with no clarification during the period a mother is awaiting test results for if something is wrong with her baby.
If it’s the appt I’m referring to, it’s a different team, so it’s possible they had no idea that you’re waiting for your results, other than to sensibly think ‘Hm, 12-13 weeks’ 🤦🏻♀️🤣 Honestly, I was told at my scan, ‘if we need to talk to you about something, we will. Otherwise, no news is good news’ Also the receiving multiple letters in 1 big batch is also a thing. I have loads more upcoming appts (for a blood condition), and they all came thru in one go, in separate envelopes. Same with first pregnancy. Hope all is well x
What date will you be for the midwife phone call? Approx 14 weeks? Is this your first pregnancy? I had my scan at 12 weeks, and a phonecall at 14 weeks, with the antenatal clinic, which was mostly about my birth plan (this is second pregnancy). Then an in-person midwifery appt at 17 weeks. If they had something they wished to discuss with you, I imagine they would discuss it on the phone with you, rather than wait to see you in person. But I have no firsthand experience with it, sorry. All I was told was, if there was something out of the ordinary in the scan/testing results, that we’d be contacted by phone within 3 days.
