my daughter will be starting them soon i always said no but she to violent n triggerd easily so its the only way for us now x

I would try natural alternatives first.

I have 3 adhd kiddos. 2 of them take medication. I think if it's needed we shouldn't fear it.

Depends on the meds i guess.. I can go back on mine once I stop breastfeeding 😂 if my kid turns out to be neurospicy too I probably want to deplete other options first before meds. If you're asking about actually getting them to take them, idk, probably make it a dopamine inducing task

Don’t do it I’d say unless your kid is violent towards other kids , my sister was on it when she was about 8 and she walked around like a complete robot n barley ever talked to us she’d just stare off into space mid sentence so my mother took her off them, she was prescribed them bc she talked to much and couldn’t stand still in her class

@Elisha sure, natural products for adhd exist, but they work? NO. That's why we have medications. I use mostly natural remedies, but the key is knowing when to use them and adhd is not one of them.

@Janessa that's because they either prescribed her something that didn't work for her or it was the wrong dose. Or maybe they didn't even prescribe her actual adhd meds, but something else to "calm her down"

My oldest have been taking them since she was 9 years old. They were definitely a game changer for her. She got a non-stimulant at first, but now that she's older, she does a non stimulant at night and a stimulant on the mornings. She's been doing so well at school and home because the meds help her focus a lot better and stay on task, etc.

@Nicky no it was definitely adhd medication I was there when they prescribed it to her , I’m assuming she just didn’t have the right response to it then what my mother expected so she took her off them

@Janessa was it a stimulant?

My son’s paediatrician trialled different options before deciding that ADHD medication was the best option for him. And in all honesty, the medication has been beneficial for him and seems to be helping him which is good to see. I think alternative options should be exhausted before the option of medication is mentioned just because medication can take a bit to get the right dosages and so forth which can be hard on the parent and the child.

Before I was like if people need it do you… but now with RFK and Trump in the states… just be aware that they might pull some dumb stuff… cuz when the secretary of health has previously stated that he wants us off adhd meds and put us in camps… we should just keep that in the back of our heads cuz we didn’t think we would lose roe v wade… but here we are… and it’s sad when me and my therapist talk that our only saving grace is big pharma would not let that happen… but again just be mindful…
