There’s a book called “The Storyteller’s Handbook” on Amazon. It has illustrations with lots of detail that you can use to inspire a story. The illustrations don’t necessarily relate to each other, but there’s so much going on in them you can make a whole story out of each one.
I love this idea!! Promotes creativity as well. I had a book growing up like that. It only had one word "achoo". It was about an elephant with a sneeze. My daddy and I would take turns making up the story each night.
@Neena thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment and you looking for the books ☺️
@Gennifer thank you so much! I will definitely have a look! It sounds like exactly what I am after ☺️
@Ellie it’s memories like that I want for my boys! It’s no hidden secret that I struggle reading and my eldest is aware but I want them to be able to say no our mum couldn’t read particularly well BUT we made up stories ! My eldest reads to me all the time, he reads his school books to me and his comics but I want to make reading/story telling fun That sounds like such a good book! That sneeze could have been caused by anything 🤣 I bet you had so much fun
Don’t feel like a trash mom. You can also make memories doing other things at night. Singing a song or even enjoying the tonie box together!
Hi, I have the first of the Aaron Becker's Wordless books, it's beautiful.
I saw some books at the library last week that were just pictures no words, I thought they were interesting as it gives the child (or parent) a chance to narrate their own story based on what they see. I’m going back on Saturday, I’ll bookmark your post and let you know the titles/authors 😊
