getting first appointments in philly :/

i get sooo much anxiety setting up doctors apts in philly because the demand is so high and doctors availability always seem months out. as a high risk, i don’t want to run into such limiting experiences. i’m going with jefferson for midwifery and primary. anyone else currently going there? 👀

Yes. I’m currently with Jefferson. I must say for my ob appointment. I had no problem getting an appointment quickly. Even for my first ultrasound. Went on Monday, and was able to get an ultrasound appointment for Thursday, the sane week.

Did you look into Pennsylvania hospital?

@Dini that’s great. so far, trying to book through the online portal, it makes you take a questionnaire and when i select high risk, my options go from same week to weeks out. i’m going to call tomorrow and hopefully a scheduler can help me choose the right location and midwife. wish me luck!

@NiNi i was recommended to either pick jefferson or penn. 🤔 i think imma go with jefferson but do you have a compelling argument for penn?

@Tia Penn is definitely the best in the Philly area . 8th and spruce is excellent

@Tia try calling maybe that might help? Let them know as well you’re high risk.

I did Penn and had an awesome experience. First I was at Washington square (8th and walnut) and when I became high risk for another health issue, they seamlessly moved me to HUP (34th and Spruce). I never had any issues getting anything scheduled and my team was always on top of everything. In between appointments I was able to message them with any questions.

hmm, y’all really making me consider penn. i had no intentions lol. everyone raves about the jefferson ob team. 🫠 i’m so conflicted.

Jefferson is great! I had my baby there and I loved it 😍

I loooovvveed Abington

I got to Philadelphia midwife collective and I love it ! They’re linked with Jefferson hospital it’s self booking too 🤭

I'm doin jefferson for midwives...so far so good

@Sam how is the midwife collective?

@amber I love it honestly my first I did a regular obgyn and there’s a big difference in my opinion. There’s only 3 doctors which makes it more personal they’re all so nice and informative too ! I don’t feel like a number either so it’s not like I’m being rushed out or anything. Another thing I like is I don’t feel judged or unheard. So I highly recommend them 😩

@amber my ultrasounds are at Jefferson and either of the 3 midwife’s will be delivering my baby at Jefferson 😊
