Constipation

My 8 month old is constantly constipated and sore. Any suggestions please? He has 3 meals a day and 3 bottles. I thought his constipation would ease by now but he still struggles. He is on aptamil comfort since birth which used to help his constipation but not now. He also has water after every meal

Do you include fibre where you can, like prune puree pouches or wheatabix, with some sips of water? Their digestive system is handling a lot too

Yes he has weetabix for breakfast and had water after every meal.

Try maybe probiotics like Bio Gaia drops, my boy was sooo constipated too. Lots of water and prunes, veg and fruit, limit things like white rice, bananas or white bread. Try massaging his tummy clockwise, bicycle kicks etc. Sometimes their tummies need a bit of help.

We swear by the prune pouches. We get the Ella’s Kitchen ones and give 4-5 little spoonfuls after each meal. She has an odd day where she skips a bowel movement but most days she goes and doesn’t struggle at all. She’s also on a comfort formula due to constipation early on. X

@Andrea do you give prune every day?

I give it to him at least 4-5times a week. Soak them overnight in a bit of water and blend&freeze the next day, I do 1 cube as 1 serving, mixed in yoghurt or porridge.

We use Ella’s kitchen prune puree mixed into Greek yoghurt every day as lunchtime dessert. So far everything is very regular ☺️
