Experiences of toddlers on flights

Hello! Please could you share any tips or tricks you used to get through airport queues / a 2 hour flight? 🤭 Also if anyone has any recommendations of strollers which fit into hand luggage I’d really appreciate them! I’ve got no idea how I’ll manage to keep our 2.5 yo still during security lines if we don’t have a buggy or something else (preferably not reins, I think they would upset him) Thank you x

Snacks and more snacks! 😂😂 you can take any buggy and if it doesn’t go in plane with you they’ll take it from you at the gate when you are boarding, just say you want to take it through with you. It will then come through with the luggage. But think joolz aer, silver cross, bugaboo butterfly can go in the cabin Activities, books, magazines, colouring, some stuff downloaded if you are ok with them watching a tablet for a bit. And snacks! 😂 We took our eldest when he was that age to Mexico! 😵‍💫 but he was great!

A baby carrier is a godsend. Keeps them close but you also have hands free. Would only have to take them out for security. Also you can use a lot of strollers until you get to the plane then the take it to go into the hold so you wouldn't need it to fit onboard.

@Natalie what baby carrier do you have for a toddler? I’ve been looking but struggling to find something suitable x

@Sophie there are a lot of options such as Lenny lamb preschool, integra/connecta size 2 or 3 (depends on clothes size), Tula toddler. Depending on their weight something like a lifft slings pouch could work for short periods. A ring sling is an option too. If you wouldn't really use it outside of the holiday then you could hire from a sling library for the trip (that's what we are gonna do cos our usual one is too thick).

I think we make it worse in our minds than it is We let ours in October run around the airport Security he ran through the line but the staff were lovely and let me just go way ahead of where we were Meals and snacks yes New sticker books and colouring iPad All of those things help But also just being bored and being on the aeroplane is fun Try not to get in your own head about it x

I tried to keep him awake til we were on the flight to Cyprus (5hrs). Airport queues were fine going through Manchester, they're set up to take families down a seperate lane and it was fast and really impressive. I have the Bugaboo butterfly, I got a pram travel bag from amazon so I could put the tag and my name and details on it so it wouldn't get damaged. Coming back was abit frustrating, he was in his pram, the queues were long and everyone goes through the same lanes. He was abit whiny, but we managed it. On the flight, snacks, ipad, sticker books, let him walk about sometimes supervised. He napped a big chunk each way. I was so anxious but I was super impressed with him!
