Solids!!

How many times should we be offering purées and/or solid food a day? (BLW) He drinks 25-30 oz of formula a day and we offer once a day but should we be doing more?

We have been doing once a day around dinnertime

I read that Formula or breastmilk is their primary source of nutrition before age 1, so the goal of offering solids is to introduce them to new flavors and textures, not necessarily to fill them up. So I think until he’s showing signs that he wants more solids, once a day is perfect.

@Meagan yes thats exactly what his pediatrician said so we offer formula first over anything! thank you!

@Lianna we do around dinner time too!

We do twice either breakfast & dinner or lunch & dinner - my son still drinks 35-40oz a day. Our pediatrician said it’s more of like a “taste” before 12 months

I started once a day at 4 months. Then after 2 weeks she was on it twice a day because daycare also feeds her. Now at 5 months (6 on Wednesday) she eats 3 times a day

3-4 times a day but depends on the day.

It depends on how he is feeding, baby is getting to the point where he is wanting food over formula, I've been doing it once a day for the most part at dinner but might be adding some at breakfast too. I've noticed he had been spitting up less when he has more starches(potatoes, oats, rice). I plan on talking to the pediatrician more about it to see if it we could lean more into foods

We are doing just dinner time for now. BLW style
