Weight gain in pregnancy

I am feeling so bloated and have gained like 10pounds and i am just shy of completing 29 weeks. One of my docs told me i should gain only 15 pounds whole pregnancy. What is a normal weight gain?

Hey my first pregnancy I gained 47 lbs. and I’m 20 weeks in and I’ve already gained 10lbs. My OB said it was normal this last time I visited.

I’m 21 weeks and already gained 20lbs. My doctor hasn’t flagged it as concerning, and so many doctors say different things. It depends on a lot of factors! I found Expecting Better by Emily Oster helpful in balancing my perspective. (I recognize not everyone likes that book, but just sharing what helped me recently.)

30 lbs is a suggested average max. With that being stated all bodies are different as well as personal medical situations. My first pregnancy I gained 20 lbs each trimester and was healthy my entire pregnancy as well as delivered a healthy baby.

If your bmi is not high maybe your doctor ment 15 kg not lbs? 10lbs by 30weeks it’s really Not much it’s just placenta and baby weight. But it all depends what was your starting weight

Thank you so much!

With my first I gained 70 pounds. This time, I’ve lost 12 pounds but baby is growing great! PLEASE remember you need to account for a baby, a placenta, amniotic fluid, boobies, and potential water retention.

My first time around I gained almost 50 pounds and lost 40. This time I’m 20 weeks and gained just under 10. I’ve heard each pregnancy can be different. Ultimately if your docs not concerned I wouldn’t be! You can start the shred once you get the go ahead from your doc once baby is here. :D

My doctors said 20-25 is normal range
