BLW?

Is it bad that I prefer to spoon feed my baby rather than do blw? I’ve tried but she just doesn’t seem interested. I’m worried she’ll end up missing out on skills that come with blw. At least I know she’s definitely eating what I give her.

I mostly spoon feed at the moment. Mine is also not that interested in blw. I exclusively spoon fed my first who is 8 and she's an excellent eater. Just let her try with the spoon now and then and as they get older they'll start showing more interest

There is nothing wrong with it. All babies are different and she will progress naturally

My little one is so not ready for BLW, she shoves it to the back of her mouth and makes herself sick, then gets frustrated and cries. We’re sticking to spoon feeding. She also likes to hold a spoon herself and bring that to her mouth, so she’s still leaning the skill of bringing the spoon to mouth etc. They’re all so so different. My mum likes to point out that she spoon fed us until we were taking the spoon out of her hand to do it ourselves, and me and my siblings can definitely feed ourselves🤣whatever you’re comfortable with and whatever baby is happiest with is the way to go!x

I'm doing a bit of both, letting my little one try to feed himself (he's not very successful) and then spoon feeding too. He's still at tasting stage though really.

Not at all, nothing wrong with either method or a bit of both. This time round I am doing a bit of both as that feels right with this baby and she loves both methods, I have three older ones, one was mainly blw, the other two mainly spoon fed regardless of method they all got the skills they needed and became good eaters. Go with what is right for you and your baby.
