Nursery anxiety 😭

Anyone else feel sick with worry about sending LO to nursery? I just received some settling in sessions for next week and my stomach has turned. It all feels very real now. I haven’t been away from my baby for more than 2 hours since he was born. This is so tough 😢 any words from mums who have already sent their LOs to nursery already that can help make me feel better please?

I can’t stop thinking about it . He’s starting first week of April and I’m sickkkk already I’ve always been with him since he was born and now he’s gonna leave me for hours 😭😭😭😭😭

My LO started at just over 7 months old! I wasn’t ready to leave her (still not tbh) but financially we had no choice! She absolutely LOVES it there! I was so worried as she’s a Velcro and FOMO baby so I was concerned about her settling and getting used to being left to play independently more but she’s done really well! She naps better there than at home (which isn’t great but still) and is much better at independent play! She’s happy 90% of the day and is so excited to see me when I pick her up which is the best part of my day!

they adapt & just like all transitioning it can be tricky. Remember the ppl working there are trained to look after children & have a world of experience. Talk to them frankly & be open with fears & they can help by sending more updates etc.

My girl went in for 2 days a week from 3 months and started full time nursery at 8 months. It’ll be weird at first but I swear this is the best thing my husband and I have done for her. She’s learning so much, doing so much and eating a bunch of things I’d be too scared to introduce to her alone at home! Yes, she’s got sick and got us sick too a few times, but it makes her strong. You’ve got this!

@Justina girl same! But the others comments have made me feel better! Thank you all so much for sharing

My little boy has been going since he was 6 months at the start of November and is absolutely loving it - he did take time to settle in but he’s developed so so much since going and it’s really helped him socialise with other kids! I’m over the moon with our nursery - he only goes 3 days a week

@Alex thank you Mine is going three times a week too

@Justina @Alex same here, 3 days a week!

I may sound dramatic but the only feeling I can compare this to is grief of losing a loved one. I cried every day last week! I have 2 weeks left until I go back to work and she starts nursery. I know she will thrive, but I’m the one who doesn’t want to be away from her. Feels so unnatural x

@Marissa totally with you there, it’s just a horrible feeling, loads of questions. I’ve even thought of them trying to comfort him if he’s upset and I can’t come to terms with that. Does that make sense? Like I feel like I’m the only one who can soothe him if he is 😢

Pls don’t set me Off 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

@Justina at least, we’re all in this together and we aren’t alone in how we feel
