Crib to toddler bed is not going well

I feel like I have a newborn all over again. 😭😭 The time has come. Homeboy launched himself out of his crib the other night so we got him right into a toddler bed. 🤣 Anyways, if he gets up and stands by his gate and cries and yells, I can pretty much sleep through it. My boyfriend cannot. But if you go in there, he runs right back to his bed. So he’s able to put himself back to sleep, that’s why it doesn’t worry me. My boyfriend keeps bringing him into our bed. But are there any other tips and tricks you guys have to make this easier on him? He’s waking up at like 1am and then 4am and staying up until there’s about a half hour before we need to wake up for daycare and then he’s past out asleep again. So now he’s becoming very restless and crabby especially in the mornings. 😭 help please.

We are going through the same thing! Nothing of substance to add yet 🙃 But I’m also in ND!

My daughter is also getting out oh the crib help please

Do you have an issue with your boyfriend bringing him into your bed? Are you not able to sleep with your son snuggled up with you too? If you respond to his crying and walk him back to his bed and tuck him in, will he go back to sleep?

@Anne I do, because I don’t want it to become a habit. But we got on the same page about it today. No I don’t have a problem snuggling my son haha. 😂 I just know once he gets used to it finally, he’ll sleep better in his room like he did in his crib far more than how he’s sleeping with us. We are currently walking him back to his bed and going to make sure we keep it that way now.

@Kassidi hello neighbor!!

@Cailie hmm gotcha. we did the opposite. at 18 months our daughter transitioned to her floor bed. anytime she wanted a snuggle, we let her come in our bed or one of us slept in her bed. a couple months of that and she was totally fine sleeping in her own space alone. i think she knew she was always welcome to sleep with us and didn’t feel like she was missing out on anything- we just waited for her to be ready in her own time without forcing anything. now i miss the snuggles haha. good luck!

@Anne that’s awesome!
