Fitness and breastfeeding

I’m currently 10 weeks postpartum. I was very active before giving birth, running and CrossFit. I ended up having an emergency c-section so I’m slowly easing back into exercising. I’m exclusively breastfeeding and I’ve heard that doing too much exercise or pushing yourself too hard can cause your supply to drop. Is this true? Has anyone experience this or is it a myth?

Hey I'm 11 weeks PP and I've gone back into weight training and I haven't found my supply has dropped. I just make sure I keep hydrated, get my protein in and take my vitamins as Im burning alot more calories than I did pre pregnancy x

Hi! I am a breastfeeding counsellor. It's a Myth! As long as you have the go ahead physically to work out, go for it. Just be sure to get a supportive nursing sports bra and stay hydrated. Xx

I workout 5 days a week, and I’m currently nursing my fifth baby. Exercise hasn’t affected my supply.
