Yeah as Ebony-Rose said, it’s just for fun and exploring new tastes and feeling the food, not about eating an actual meal. My baby wasn’t super interested, then started doing well recently and now isn’t really eating again but she has a new tooth coming through x
I understand that its for fun and i am aware that baby’s milk is the main source, my concern is that he does not attempt to try any of the foods, not blw or purees.
@Aart do you eat with him? We were in the same boat where our LO was okay with purée for a while, but when we transitioned to lumpy food, she absolutely hated it. So we then offered her finger foods, and she would eat them if we were sitting down having a meal together. She would copy us.
Yeah apart from breakfast, when i have food ill offer the same things and eat at the same time.
I wouldn’t feel like you need to offer 2 meals a day at this stage. My baby is still just pushing most foods out with her tongue so isn’t really swallowing / eating any of it so I offer one thing once a day sometimes just milk until she gets the hang of it. I seem to have the opposite issue where she is good at putting foods to her mouth, likes gnawing on cucumber and kiwi wedges but doesn’t like purées or mushed up things just makes a noise and dribbles it all out lol she was born at 37 weeks so I don’t know if it’s because she was a bit early.
@Lydia awww bless her, it maybe that they not quite as ready, mine was born at 38 weeks, and maybe i’m putting too much pressure on both of us! think i’m going to give your method a go
Food before 1 is for fun. BLW is messy. Its also very fun for baby and really good for fine motor skill development. As long as baby is still having plenty of BM/formula you dont need to worry. Theyll eat when theyre ready If you are worried about solid intake you can do a combination of BLW and spoon fed, it doesnt have to be one or the other x
