Recommendations for maternity pillows please!!

Hey all, hope you're all doing well 🥰😘 currently 15+6 and my sleep quality is suffering massively. I'm getting around 3.5 hours of light sleep a night (no REM) and it's slowly driving me round the twist. I know when baby's here I'll get none, don't need to be told. 😂 Main issue is, I've started committing to side sleeping as best I can, I have a U shaped mat pillow I got off Amazon years ago due to an injury and it's served me okay, but I'm just getting so uncomfortable now! Mainly from hips digging in to mattress, shoulder / arm being uncomfy from tucking under the pillow etc, I've also got coxyx pain and degenerative disc disease which is really effecting me now I'm putting a bit more weight on / have to be careful about how I prop my head as it applies pressure there somehow 🥹. I have quite a bump situation going on now so sleeping any other way is a bit of a no no. I need a more breathable pillow anyway, as mine is thick and like velour material on the cover and will be dreadful in summer when heavily pregnant. I've googled the best pillows but the reviews are all heavily endorsed / sponsored and I wanna hear it from people who have tried & tested please! Suggestions much appreciated, and any other tips on getting a better night sleep! 🤪🫠

BBhugme pillows- mines great. Got it off Vinted much cheaper than and the cover is removable. Long enough to support knees bump and then head/ shoulder positioning if needed. I’ve been really happy with it. ☺️

Got the Mumcozy ‘G shaped’ pillow, on special at Boots and Amazong too x

I got the DreamGenii this week. It’s got a flat panel that goes under you which might help you - means your arms are more free - and a little wedge for your lower back. I wish it detached so that you don’t always have to have it on, but that’s seemed pretty good so far - I managed a 15 min walk without my lower back hurting yesterday for the first time in 6 weeks, don’t know if that’s a coincidence!

@Kate I also have the bbhugme and have been really liking it. I’ve had it for about a week and definitely don’t want to sleep without it. You can adjust the firmness of it and squish it under belly to make it fit.

I searched for ages and read so many reviews. Eventually I went for the viral Momcozy pillow that's ALL over tiktok. I hate it. It's too big and it doesn't support me everywhere properly. So now I'm starting my search again. I'd love a Bbhugme but I am not prepared to part with that much money for a pillow.

@Holli you might find some sales on the behugme and try vinted. It will also work well as a nursing pillow after whether breast or bottle feeding (even the full size one). I’ve tried placing it around my lap and it will serve perfectly as a little cushion for baby. I saw it as an investment that will hopefully last longer than pregnancy. 🙏

@Kate interesting thank you! I'll look into it as I do luckily have some vouchers I can spend on something like this. I'm sure it's more than worth it if you get more sleep! Just to ask, what's the cover like? Do you think it'll be quite breathable in summer? I'm due August 29th so I know I'm in for a very uncomfy summer haha 🥹x

@Rika thank you for your honesty, this is exactly why I haven't rushed / gone for anything viral as I'm seeing ads everywhere too! I'd much rather look for one second hand if covers can be washed etc also, on one that people actually say is decent. might be worth having a shop around. 🤞🏻🤞🏻X

@Jade thank you! I think this is the exact one I already have 🤭 the cover gets so hot already so it's not really summer friendly and I find it's not really providing much support anymore / just goes flat. Also a pain in the bum to get in the right position as it's humongous! 🤭 Doesn't help that my partner rolls over and pins one side down with his legs haha. X

Following as just posted exactly same question 🫣

@Charlie I feel like it’s quite breathable. Hasn’t been bothering me I’ve been getting warm at night and have had no issues. ☺️

I find the cover of the behugme very nice and cooling and soft (in a good way).

Momcozy G pillow with the cooling cover has been great as I get too hot at night otherwise. Though if it is your hips that are the issue, it may be that a mattress topper is better for allowing you the support and not to feel your hips are digging into the mattress.

I got this one and I absolutely love it - https://amzn.eu/d/aqymeFr
