Depends on why it's been recommended! For the doctors, their priority (correctly so) is getting my son off a feeding tube, and because of this, we've been working on his independent sitting in a high chair for weeks, he can now hold his own head up for at least 15 minutes without getting tired, however, if your baby can't (and that's not unusual at this age) then solids may cause an issue in that they get stuck in the throat. Also, their digestive systems aren't quite ready yet. I'm going to be mixing formula into the solids, so he can get nutrition from that as well as the food itself. Honestly, every baby is different, I know my mum in law started weening my husband (that sounds weird, but you know what I mean LOL) at around 4 months, and in Hong Kong, that was normal back then! There's no real right or wrong, but it's safer if you wait. I just don't really have that luxury, sadly.
Some mothers have told me they are recommended 4mo weaning for allergens like nuts if mother is allergic or has not eaten nuts during, to decrease chance of allergy.
I have started solids we do the same food for 2 days before swapping one day of rest then new food we have mesh feeder once a day with banana or avocado. One small meal spoon fed x
@Sarah Ooooh, what's a mesh feeder?? Is it one of those dummy looking things?
Yes she loves it xx
Same doubt and FTM here. I was planning on introducing solid foods when the pediatrician recommended it, but I saw some posts where mums have been waiting until the baby turns 6 months old. Are there any cons to introducing solids earlier than 6 months?
