We started this week. I'm doing veg purees, 1 meal a day at around lunchtime approx an hour after a bottle. I've frozen the purees into an ice cube tray and doing one cube mixed with a little breast milk. It's more about getting them used to the texture at this point I think, my boy has spat out every mouthful so far 😂

My little girl has actively started eating and swallowing, I think what @Kim has recommended is perfect - about an ice cube amount of pureed veg. I started with sweet potato which she loves and carrots - going to do green veg which she doesn’t seem too keen on 😂 I’ve also given strawberry and banana which she likes ofcourse! I read just a few spoons to start off with and build this up til they begin to learn to push the food back to swallow. I’ve also introduced sips of water after in a straw cup which little one has taken like a dream to drinking through a straw xx

@Kim how do you defrost the puree cubes?

When u first start out give no more then 1-3 spoonfuls for the first few days whilst their stomachs adjust. At 6 months they have 1 meal a day, at 7 months 2 meals and for 8-9+ months 3 meals a day. If when u give bottles they start drinking less milk then normal ur giving to much food there milk intake shouldnt decrease and should continue to increase oz as they go as it is their main source or nutrition. My baby has been meaning for a month I would only give him about half of one of the small pouches per day they really don't need a lot x

@Vasecc I take one out in the morning and pop it in his bowl, cover with a bit of clingfilm and leave on the side. It defrosts in an hour or so then I put it in the fridge until he's ready. I then warm it in the microwave for literally 15 seconds just to take the chill off.

Just a few spoon fulls at a time. Try not to introduce too much at once mainly for allergies. Try the same food a few times before switching to pin point easily
