Fearful of going for a poo

Has anyone toddler gone through or is going through a stage where they are scared to poo? My toddler seems to be scared and seems very distressed when he wants to go for a poo. He keeps saying poo poo but is frightened about going and as a result, he doesn’t go and I feel that this is making him constipated. We have increased his fibre intake and is currently drinking a high vitamin drink which contain Inulin but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Yesss!!! Been dealing with this on and off for a good year now! Since she's been potty trained we have had weeks of it being good and then bad. Just come out of a 2 day with hold of poo 😵‍💫 which just sends you over the edge! Then she's gone for her bath this evening with my husband and just got on the toilet and gone?? I don't understand it! We're the same with fibre she has a good diet! I did take her to the doctor last year and they said it can be that they had one painful poo and this just hasn't left them. We used movicol from The doctor once a day which helps and if it's really bad and has been a few days and she's in pain and really refusing we can use a few sachets to clear her out! I know exactly how you feel 💕

My daughter went through this faze of being scared to poop, we just let her know every time she was pooping, needed to poop or just pooped that it was ok and we were proud of her and gave her lots of cuddles. One day she was no longer scared. We found it helped when we added more fibre into her diet.

I literally just wrote this on the post above 😂 but my daughter also hated going a poo on the potty/toilet and she was visibly needing to go, but would always refuse and scream to get off the toilet. I decided she needed some sort of distraction to calm her down so gave her bluey to watch on my phone & it worked straight away.. we made a massive deal of it and she was so excited and proud of herself & she wasn’t worried to use it anymore 😊
