My daughter never eats nursery food. I usually send her in with 1 pack of noodles for the nursery to make her every day she’s at nursery. We went about a month or so of her eating nothing (for 8+hours) so they agreed to allow me bring in the noodle Packs
@Kay thank you for your reply x
Mine was like that at first and now he eats more at nursery than he ever does at home 😂 The health visitor told me it can be due to separation anxiety so once they settle in and realise it's all ok they usually feel comfortable enough to eat and their appetite will pick back up.
When mine first started he didn’t eat much for the first couple of weeks and now eats everything!!
As someone who works in a nursery it’s very normal. You can always ask staff if it’s okay for you to bring back up so she’s got something from home that she could eat just so she’s had something x
It might be that's she's so excited being in a new environment and doesn't have the patience to sit down and eat. Or a little bit of separation anxiety, but that will probs go soon enough! My little boy sometimes refuses his snack at nursery if something else takes his eye You'll probably find (eventually) that she'll eat so much better at nursery than at home though or trying new foods! The amount of time they've said my son has eaten this or that🤣🙄 I think the first few days/weeks at nursery are just as nerve wracking for us mums. But please don't pile on mum guilt it's so normal❤️
I watch my kids and my son who just turned 2 sometimes barely eats the whole day. Kids eat when they are hungry.
My boy ate them out of house and home on his 1st day . He had 2 portions of everything. It was actually embarrassing and I had to tell them “I do feed him I promises ” Not eating when they start nursery is a variation of normal. I would not worry.
My little boy didn't eat anything at nursery for about 6 weeks!! He would come home absolutely starving but he got used to it and loves it now and eats everything they give him: I would try not to worry ☺️
Yes normal - my LG started at 6 months and didn’t drink milk for 2-3 days.
@Ema She went an entire month without eating at daycare? Maybe it’s bc i’m from the U.S., but that would be a huge no no at any daycare here. (I’ve worked in many daycares and schools for the past 7 years). You’re required to pack meals and snacks + water for your child daily. Is that not the standard where you’re at? Not trying to sound judgmental at all I’m genuinely curious. Not eating for 8+ hours a day, for about a month, seems serious to me. Especially when they’re little and growing to fast:(
@Julianna unfortunately my daughter’s nursery do not allow outside food. I would much prefer that because my daughter does not like the food options they offer. My daughter goes to nursery 1day a week and this was 8hours at the time. So a month is only about 4 days in nursery.
My 2yo started this month and refuses to eat. The staff said it’s normal at this stage. I make sure he has his morning milk and breakfast before he goes
