Underactive thyroid

This might be abit of a strange question, but a few weeks ago I found out I have an underactive thyroid so our IVF journey had to be paused until the levels are back to where they need to be. I was prescribed Levothyroxine for life. I had to order a repeat prescription for the first time, I did it a week before I needed it but the doctors never processed it so I phoned them up and they said I requested it too early even though it was open to order on my online patient account 🙄 How many days before should I be requesting my repeat prescription? considering it takes 2-3 working days to be processed and sent across to the pharmacy.

I always do mine a week before I run out of medication to avoid any gaps. Good luck with your IVF journey - I had a healthy pregnancy without having a thyroid at all so I’m sure it’ll be smooth sailing for you once you get your levels all sorted 💖

@Lucy I thought ordering a week before was normal to do, maybe my doctors are just making excuses. Thank you so much, thats good to know you was successful. Congrats 💗

They can be a bit useless! I had to wait 5 weeks when I was pregnant for a new levo script, causing my TSH levels to almost quadruple from a safe range, with the excuse being ‘sorry the consultant was on holiday for a week’ 🫠 fingers crossed you don’t come across malpractice like this in the coming months!

@Lucy gosh thats terrible! They should of got another consultant to sort that out for you. Unbelievable! Did you make a complaint? Thank you. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly as it should do.
