Window to the womb diagnostics tests

Hi 👋🏼 Was wondering if anyone has been to window to the womb for a fertility scan or blood test and what it's like ? I used them for my son's 4D scan year's ago but I didn't realise they'd started doing women's health scans and blood tests now too! I'm not Eligible for any tests on the NHS but my periods are getting more and more painful and the GP isn't interested at all because "I have a child already" apparently that rules me ineligible for any kind of fertility issue help even if it's just period related but I am TTC soon too so I'd like some more insight from a professional

@Loz I think it depends on the NHS trusts but ours doesn't offer IVF or fertility treatment if you have previous children

Regardless of wether they offer fertility help they should be investigating your periods because if you have something like pcos it affects your general health in so many ways if left unmanaged. It’s not just about fertility. I’d go back and demand answers

@Yasmin They said it's all classed under fertility help and it's not available to us 😩 I've booked a private scan and blood test anyway

I’d absolutely refute that! You will find with women’s health issues sadly if you’re not pushy you’ll be cast aside

"The standard NHS policy is that couples who already have a child (either together or from previous relationships) are not eligible for NHS-funded Fertility treatment" that's from their website 🥴

But it’s not about fertility treatment it’s about your overall health! Endometriosis, PCOS etc affect so much more than just your fertility if left untreated. I mean I think their policy is absolutely wild but I’d push on the basis of your health rather than fertility because even if you went private for fertility treatment you’re entitled to treatment for a long term condition on the NHS x

@Yasmin I don't have any of those conditions so not sure why you mentioned them 😕

Your periods getting more and more painful suggests there’s something more going on - it’s not normal to have increasingly painful periods and those kind of conditions are common causes - obviously not necessarily can be lots of things but it’s important to have them checked and ruled out and you shouldn’t have to pay privately to do so
