It depends on the brand too. Cheeky wipes brand you soak in a chlorine free detergent and then drain and throw in the washing machine and clean as normal I actually find period pants or reusable period pants much more comfortable - I find things are drier. You could try both and see what you prefer. Sometimes the pads move which is annoying but they're easier to swap if you need to while you're out. You can get a waterproof bag to pop the used ones into if you need. I also found with disposable sanitary towels as I got older and possibly because I got larger when I walked far the wings would rub and really hurt my skin which never happens with the reusable ones
I never tried period panties so can't comment on it but I've been using a menstrual cup for years and I love it! It doesn't leak, I don't feel wet and most of the time I can't feel it at all. Unless I have really bad cramping, I almost forget I'm having my period. I tried cloth pads as well. They are comfortable but way too warm in the summer. I wonder if period undies would have a similar problem.
You wear period pantries instead of a tampon or pad. I love my cup and fully recommend it!
My flow is so damn heavy so I use the flex disk plus pads. The flex disk can be worn for 12 hrs it’s comfortable and can help with cramps
I haven’t tried panties but have tried a cup and absolutely hated it, it was way over complicated for no reason and was just stressful especially when out and about, talking about BC though I absolutely adored using the patch! So simple and easy with virtually 0 side effects dl☺️
I pretty much solely used period pants for the last year before getting pregnant, I find them so much more comfortable than a tampon or pad. I’ve mostly got ones from Wuka but if you want to just try them out M&S and even Primark do some cheaper ones (would recommend investing in more expensive ones if you’re using long term though! Just rinse in cold water when you take them off and then pop in the wash when you next do a load (no fabric conditioner or tumble drying)
i use period undies! i don’t wear pads or tampons with them just bleed straight into it. i just bought some new ones from the brand “saalt” and they’re sooo comfy and absorbent, even on the heaviest days. you do have to rinse them out in the sink before washing to get most of the blood out. some people may not like that but it doesn’t bother me
