When did all the tissue come out? When did you test negative?

They suggest leaving it 2-3 weeks max. I had a piece stuck at the entrance to my cervix which they removed manually after 3 weeks and that was the last bit. I’ve been told to take another pregnancy test after another 3 weeks as my hgc was still high

I have read so many stories and everyone is so different. I’d speak to the early pregnancy unit and see what they recommend. I had retained products 2 weeks after I miscarried and my body was showing no signs of clearing it naturally as bleeding stopped over a week before. They usually allow you to wait 2 weeks and then the risk of infection grows. I opted for a d&c (which I so desperately didn’t want to do and was worried about) I just couldn’t wait any longer and the stress was to much and held of my grieving process. The operation went really well, was only in hospital for the morning and discharged around lunchtime. Felt a little sore for a day or so and then fine. Second miscarriage I was still testing positive after 2 weeks but luckily when I went for a scan was no retained products this time and after 2.5 weeks pregnancy test was negative again. Sorry you are going through this and hope all goes as well as it can.

@Sophie it’s been a week but my consultant said to give it 3 weeks. That’ll be 4 weeks. Would that be okay? I don’t want scarring or an infection.

All guidance I’ve seen says 3 weeks maximum for in total so I’d push to be seen after 3 weeks
