Aeroplane with toddler

Hi, has anyone been on a flight with their toddler yet? I’m going in two weeks with my 16 month old, it’s only a 2 hour flight to Majorca and we’re going with my parents, partner, and sister and partner so there’s a few of us. I’ve seen some spinny toys to stick to the window but any other tips as my son doesn’t sit still ever🤣We set off at 5pm which works well so I can give him his dinner as we depart but just hoping for some positive stories and advice xx

We go in May. Please let us know! Someone told me to board last instead of first- if possibly have your partner board before you and get everything set up, and you stay with your son and let him run mad to get loads of energy out and board last so less hanging around and queuing!

I've just done a long 12 hour flight from UK to South africa with a 16 month old. My advice would be make sure you have a bottle for take off and landing to keep them calm and help with the ears aswell as a dummy if you still use one. And then we used flashy or noisy toys to keep her entertained and obviously to pisd off the other passengers lol but hey atleadt my baby wasn't screaming her little socks off. But yeah she did want to do lots of running around the plane. But I didn't want her being touched by a bunch of strangers saying how cute she is. I recommend milton sterilising Wipes for Wipes everything down and keep washing there hands and make sure you take your own food and snacks. I know I wasn't paying for a seat for her but still having a wriggly toddler on my lap the whole time and then still not offering any food for a baby on such a long flight was very inconvenient

@CeeCee I’ve been thinking of trying to go on last! I didn’t understand why I’d want to be stuck on the plane with bubba whilst waiting for everyone else to get on, it just makes it much longer for him! I will let you know what I take and what helps xx

@Troy Thank you for advice! I still use the dummy sometimes but have only kept it going mainly so I can use it for the flight😂Good to know though! As there’s so many of us going I’m hoping my son can kind of wander between our aisles and I don’t mind walking up and down with him.

@CeeCee no board last as they get too bored and fed up you want to just get on sit down and go

We’ve done loads of long haul and short haul with ours. Enjoy it. Take lots of snacks, wear them out in the airport so they nap, milk for take off and landing to help their ears, take a baby carrier as can be a long walk to get the pram, ignore everyone if they cry or get loud. If they watch cartoons at all then get something on loop on your phone. You will be fine just try to enjoy it.

Ms Rachel was our saviour!!!
