Did you take your ring off during third trimester?

Baby center said you might need to get it cut off if it gets stuck due to swelled fingers😳 anyone had to take their wedding rings off? When did you do this? Here’s a picture of my fingers and ring for reference. I’m currently 29 weeks

I have on and off my entire pregnancy. I’m currently 32 weeks and some days my fingers are a little swollen and some days they aren’t. But, wearing both my engagement and wedding band are uncomfortable all the time so I’ve only been wearing the band for a few months. With my daughter, I think I took it off around 34/35 weeks and didn’t put it back on until 1-2mo pp as my swelling was the worst right after birth. I’m anticipating needing to take and keep off any day now. However, I did purchase silicone rings in a size larger and was able to wear that instead when I had to take mine off.

I'd just make sure to take it off at night incase they swell while your sleeping. I couldn't wear mine past 27 weeks, but mine was on the tight side to begin with

I just took mine off at 33 weeks. I have them fit pretty snug to start with and I noticed a couple days they were a little tighter than usual so took them off just incase. Got some cheap silicone ones off Amazon for now ☺️

I don’t wear rings but what nail polish is that? That is exactly the colour I’m trying to find

I took mine off at about 32 weeks as my fingers were swelling and didn't want to risk having them cut off. Its not gone back on yet 9 weeks pp :(

I love your ring! My fingers never swelled (my feet did though 😂😭) so I didn’t take mine off, you could wear it on a necklace if you still want to wear it towards the end of your pregnancy

I has to take mines off at 35 weeks due to swelling in my hands. One day i walked to the shop 5 mins from my house n back home and i couldnt get them off due to swelling, got them off eventually and try to put them back on a few days later and i had them 10 mins n they were tight so i have had them off from 35 weeks and i am 39+3. X

I was able to fit mine up until the L&D nurse told me i should remove it incase i swell during/after delivery

I agree. I actually swelled up so much after delivery because of the IV I was on. My rings fit a few weeks later, but I still don’t wear my engagement ring anymore (7 month old baby) because i find that it protrudes too much and gets in the way when dressing her and changing her.

I didn’t have to take it off, but if I had to I would’ve worn it around my necklace. Just because I have such a strong connection to my jewelry (only a necklace and my engagement ring, that my now husband worked so hard for in college to buy so taking it off would make me so sad) that I feel bad for them to be put away in a jewelry box. I know I must be sounding like a crazy person 😅

I had to take mine off at 25 weeks, they started digging into my finger and itching.

Yes! During my 1st I ended up buying silicone rings from Amazon. I worked from home and didn't go out much but felt weird not having a ring on. Havent been able to get my ring on for a few weeks and I'm barely 28 weeks now.

My ring stopped fitting when I started my third trimester lol.... I literally ONLY just started fitting back into it. But I also gained 65 pounds.

I swelled so bad when I was pregnant!!!! I had to take my rings off at like 20 weeks! My fingers never went back to “pre-baby” even after losing 20 pounds and I ended up having to get my rings resized!

Yes I had to. I didn’t want them to have to cut mine off

I think it depends on swelling tbh. With my son it swelled so bad but went to normal after. With my current pregnancy I haven't swelled but my body changed with hormones this time and got a minor allergy that broke out my skin. Currently I'm using a silicone band

I don't have a wedding ring but I wear a family heirloom ring my grandmother gave me. I took it off around 30 weeks I think. I hung it on a necklace chain instead so I could keep it close and not risk losing it

I didn’t experience any swelling throughout my pregnancy thank god so i was able to keep my ring the whole time

Yes take it off

I took mine off when it started getting tight and wore a silicone ring until the swelling went down a few weeks pp

What is this really a thing?!?!? I'm about to go into my third trimester. Had no issue taking my ring off this morning for my shower but tonight was very tight. I guess I'm gonna get a cheap replacement ring until my fingers arent swelling as much anymore.

I havent yet but definitely have noticed its getting tighter. Its not uncomfortable, so i leave it on.

I took mine off at about 30 weeks. Baby is one week old and no signs of it being able to fit anytime soon!

Yes, I took mine off and 3 weeks pp it is still off, middle of summer in Australia here so humidity and swelling go hand in hand

I had to give up to one of my two Rings so far ...34w2d 😬

I took mine off and bought a groove ring from Amazon! I love it.

I took mine off the moment I found out I was pregnant but wear it on a chain around my neck :)

Yes, couldn’t wear mine since like 29 weeks. If you end up with a csection I was told some moms have to get them cut off! I had to take my earrings out too. They were worried about burns! Just take them off!

I took mine off about 25 weeks - glad I did although maybe too early by time I hit 35 weeks swelling would have caused problems. I'd take them off by 30 weeks

If you end up getting a spinal for an emergency c section like I did they make you take off all your jewelry before operating, so best to take it off sooner and have it safely somewhere

Yes, I took mine off. I didn’t want to risk the chance of it not coming off lol. They don’t want you wearing jewelry in the delivery room anyway.

I took mine off around 36 weeks. Still put them on on my less swollen days but have been taking them off before bed

I took mine off around 35 weeks as it was getting way too tight, I had to use soap to help me slip it off. I was able to start wearing it again a couple of weeks after giving birth

Yes. Probablly around 25 weeks my fingers started swelling pretty bad on and off.

Before going to the hospital to deliver.

I couldn’t take mine off before I was pregnant. When I nearly had a c section in hospital it was simply taped. Then when the birth went dramatically wrong and I needed a emergency c section it was already dealt with. I would suggest you spoke with your medical team as they may not be as worried as you think.

I took mine off as I went into labour. If you are really swollen though put it on a necklace around your neck xx

I barely wore mine as it was summer, hot and I was at home all the time. My fingers swelled up quite badly straight after giving birth so it’s just as well.

Ive always kept mine on. If you do end up in theatre then they can just tape over them? Makes sense to remove if fingers are swollen although I’ve never had this issue in pregnancy.

I’ve heard they cut them off?

I hate not wearing mine but had to stop wearing at about 30 weeks as it was just becoming slightly too tight to take them on and off and i was worried about them getting stuck. Keeping them safely in a little box until after my little one is here and the swelling subsides. X

Yes I took mine off before it got too tight and uncomfortable and put it on a necklace so I could still wear it 🙂

If there is a chance you're having a waterbirth, it's recommended to not wear any jewellery. Saying that, swelling occurs at different times for women, I took my rings off the day we went into hospital, (41 weeks) and I was able to wear them again the next day! (When I got home) best of luck! X

I took mine off last week at 29 weeks as found my hands were starting to swell especially first thing in the morning and didn’t want to be in a situation where I needed my precious rings cut off!

I had to stop wearing mine by the end of the second trimester fingers swelled to much.

I wasn’t even showing when I had to take mine off, initially as my eczema was so bad but now cos they don’t fit, so been wearing them on my necklace for about 6 months. Does make me wonder if they’ll ever fit me again ha

Oh no! We’d only been married a few months so I hope I get to wear them again!

I'm exactly the same. Stil dont fit now. Eczema and pregnancy (main the eczema) has made my fingers fat. I have lost hope of them fitting again 😭

I personally don't like wearing jewelry in general, so when my bf proposed he understood that I wouldn't wear my ring that often. I tried to put it on when we went to his parents and the ring wouldn't fit my finger. (38 weeks tomorrow)

Yes i did because my hands and feet had allot of swelling. I bought beautiful larger fake diamond ring and enjoyed wearing it too lol

My doctor made me take mine off when I went into labor in the off chance that swelling occured during labor

I'm only 22 weeks and I have to go without mine most days, sadly 😭

Yeah I had to take mine off for swelling. I wore my engagement and wedding rings on a necklace that I never took off and it was the first thing that my daugter grabbed when she was born 🥰

I had to take mine off at around 27 weeks cause my fingers were swelling so bad in the middle of the night that my ring would get stuck and my hand would be numb. So I suggest once you start feeling them getting right and start having a difficult time taking them off to take them off
