Do you wash your hands after changing a nappy?

I've been to quite a few baby groups where I've noticed a lot of her mums don't wash their hands after they change their baby. they just change them in the room and then carry on with the class. Personally, I find it gross and the same as going to the toilet without washing your hands. I wondered whatever everyone else thought.

Left over nappies

What do people do with leftover nappies when their babies go up a size, I have lots of size 1,2 and 3 from when my baby sizes up and im not sure what to do with them , binning seems wrong , charity and food and living banks only take them when it’s a sealed brand new pack , what do you do with your leftovers

Head bump

My 10 week old had a head bump yesterday 2pm we went hospital cos she was sick twice at 6pm. They said she seems completely fine and not concerned. When we got home she went straight to sleep and slept continuously from 10pm-8am… 10 hours with no wakes she has never done that we usually wake 3/4 times a night. I woke her up at 8am just to see how she reacted to lights n stuff and to try feed her but she’s not interested in feeding. (EBF)
Is this usual? I’m a bit concerned? But drs said she was fine so idk

Insensitive husband.

So overall my hubby is kind & supportive of most things but at times a bit of a joker and can be quite immature (like most men)

I had a Vbac with my second but it was really traumatic so I’ve decided on an elective Section which is booked for 3 weeks time.

I’m obviously nervous like anyone would be as it’s major surgery but my husband has said things like “you do have life insurance don’t you” or “just cos you’re having a planned procedure doesn’t mean things can’t go wrong” 🙄 I said you shouldn’t be saying things like that you. He was trying to push me to have another normal birth but I have my good reasons not to & I still don’t think he’s on board!

I think maybe it’s cos he knows he will have to do more after a section than a normal delivery 🤷🏻‍♀️
Men are so insensitive sometimes. I mean do you think there’s any logic in what he’s saying?

Are you still breastfeeding?

The doctor has just told me that there’s no benefit past a year. And when I said that’s a weird thing to say, he told me it’s a fact.

Naps

Anyone else’s LO still napping 30/40 minutes at a time?
He’s 6 months next week!
I feel like he’s been doing this forever and thought he’d give me a good hour or so by now 😩

He can link sleep cycles at night as he does a good 5 hour stretch but through the day he is up after half an hour everytime! (Even contact naps)

Baby waking up at 6am

Feel like I’m doing something wrong… My baby keeps waking up all the time at 6am or just before that. This is way too early for me… 🫠
Is or was anyone on the same boat as me?
If you were, what did you change for baby to sleep at least until 7-7:30am?
Current bed time is 7:30pm. Had to bring it earlier as he only takes 30min naps during the day (since week 12 and we are 19 now!!) so by the end of the day he is very fussy and impossible to deal with..
thought about putting him for the nap instead of bedtime and then put him sleep late so he wakes up later in the morning but his last nap (around 5-5:30pm) it’s terrible! He fights it like crazy so I guess another one would only be worse.. I think 🤔

He also wakes up at night constantly around 2-3am for a feed. I guess he is hungry because he eats full bottle but he eat quite a lot during the day so I’m surprised he is waking up for food..

For those whose toddler got the 18 month jabs, how was it?

Our son is getting his 18 month jabs on Tuesday (thankfully with everything going around). Just wondering how it was for your little ones, was there a fever or anything?

Walking Outside

My 16 month old boy is confident at walking indoors, bare foot, socks or shoes. The moment we encourage him to walk outside, whether it be concrete, tarmac, grass, patio or decking. He will often just stand there, not having the confidence to walk on different terrain unless it's indoors. He will get quite upset if we aren't carrying him, even if we hold his hand, it's like he freezes and will sit down, not even attempting to crawl. Any tips to help build that confidence, or is it a matter of keep trying each day? He has been walking now for around two months. We've tried different shoes, even just socks on. But no luck. Has anyone been in this situation before?

BCG

Has anyone found that their baby is more sleepy after their BCG?
Our daughter had hers on Monday and since then she’s sleeping a lot more, not waking up for feeds when she usually would (exclusively breastfed). She’s having plenty of wet nappies and seems alert when she’s awake.
She’s 4 weeks so I’m not sure if she’s out the other side of cluster feeding and having longer stretches of sleep, or if this is common after the TB vaccine? I’m so worried that she’s hungry more frequently but not waking up.

Spit up

I’m at a lost right now I’ve been to doctor after doctor they tell me it’s normal because it’s not projectile or they start her on rice but nothing seems to be helping my 3 month old is still excessively spitting up/ throwing up I’ve tried EVERYTHING sensitive stomach formula, burping in between and giving her breaks sitting her up after but it’s all day and starting to get exhausting and I know she’s gotta be getting uncomfortable with it to because she’s constantly covered in it or it’s soaking her clothes she’s getting sick of me changing and wiping her up ! Any advice or reassurance ??

Anyone on second baby struggling to get three naps?

Tips please! With my son this was all very easy as a) everything was arranged around him and b) he fell asleep easily and everywhere.

My daughter can go 4+ hours without even looking sleepy while my son used to fall asleep where you put him down if he was tired. She needs to be properly put to bed or in a pram/car (but the vehicles must stay in motion!). If I manage a morning and afternoon nap though, there’s just no way to get a late afternoon/early evening one in.

My son is coming home from nursery, I need to cook, then we do bedtime. When she was smaller she took an evening nap for 20/30 mins just after that but now we’re staring to put her down at 7.30 we can’t do that.

This is with a totally 50:50 partner too. He does pick ups and looks after son while I cook (or vice versa) and then we alternate bath and storytime with our son after all having dinner together.

As she’s a very happy and non cranky baby I don’t know whether to just let it go and focus on making the two naps decent ones…but there’s a niggle saying she needs more day time sleep.

Any ideas/similar situations?

Not crawling

My LG is 9 months in a few days. For weeks she has gone on all fours and rocks but just doesn’t want to crawl. She will end up down onto her stomach and then get really angry and frustrated and have to pick her up. She loves to stand and really wants to do that all the time. She can almost pull herself to stand but not without help yet.

Anyone else in the same boat?! I wish she would crawl to help her frustration!
