What’s it like being a mum and a CEO? Well, this week I navigated two kids’ birthday parties, a stomach bug, and oh yeah, I was invited to meet THE Tim Cook whilst he was in London this week, along with Lisa P Jackson Vice President Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives and Greg “Joz” Jozwiak SVP of Worldwide Marketing.
The day was all about unlocking potential and promoting diversity, as the Apple team engaged with young minds at the incredible Cauis House, based in Battersea London.
It was also a chance for me to connect with other brilliant app developers Dom Maskell (Runna) and Taiwo Omisore (10 Games).
Tim Cook answered questions on his early career, his decision to join Apple, and his enthusiasm for developing for the future.
We then moved into smaller break-out groups, where I spoke about everything from growing up in Peterborough, going to university, and moving from a career in law to tech. Lisa Jackson also shared insight in how to stay open to opportunities whenever they present themself (and how to make your own).
The message of the day was: “You can’t steer a ship which isn’t moving.” A reminder to always take action and stay open to possibilities.
Thank you to Apple for creating such a meaningful space for growth, connection, and learning.
Meeting the young members of Caius House and seeing their curiosity and ambition was the real highlight of the day.
Here’s to building bridges and empowering the next generation of innovators! 🚀
