Not sure on Canada's specific requirements but I believe you can have up to 2 or 3 children being unlicensed. Certifications/some education will help land families but also gain experience with caring for children other than your own. The childcare regulations still always apply. Things like children under 2 need a crib or pack n play, no blankets, safe bathroom space for potty trained children, healthy snacks and meals, diaper changes roughly every 2 hours, safe outdoor space and stroller and don't forget even a basic lesson plan so age appropriate learning toys and activities. Been running mine for a few years now but also come from daycare centers and have an education in Early Childhood Education. I will say, it can be an exhausting job not for everyone, however, if you have the talent for children it is also extremely rewarding and can come with such ease once you get your flow down.
