Chelsea and Westminster hospital!!

Has anyone given birth in CHELSEA WESTMINSTER Hospital?Can you please share your experience as I’m hearing some worrying stories about the labour ward specially if you are not going private. Is it true? Or a load of rubbish?

I will read the comments as well I’m supposed to give birth there I didn’t know they had bad stories :(

Load of rubbish. Had a birth in January 2022, absolutely loved it. Had the best midwife ever, the only issue is that during night shift right after birth I wasn’t happy with the midwifes, they were lazy asf. But guys, I had a normal delivery with epidural and I absolutely loved it. If you need some tips on how to get an epidural feel free to contact me. But don’t worry about the hospital!!

I’ve given birth there 5 1/2years ago and it was all positive. I‘ve felt really taken care of and looked after from start to finish. And remember telling my friends and family afterwards how amazing the staff was. A lot can change in 5 1/2 yrs of course. So keep that in mind. But back then I have heard more good things than bad when I have done my research and didn’t regret my decision once.

I gave birth there in November and had the most amazing experience. Had the same 2 midwife’s through the whole thing and they went above and beyond to make sure I had a water birth- the hot water was broken on the birth Center that day so they moved me to the labour ward as there was a working bath.

Amazing experience

@Mariana @Trish @Angelina @Giuseppina thank you everyone 🙏🏻 I’m so glad to hear that you’ve all had good news experiences and thank you for sharing them with me. The person who told me that Chelsea and Westminster is horrible had not even given birth there herself. So I thought I should ask people who actually have as we all know there are always people who talk nonesense and god knows why.

I also gave birth there last March and had a brilliant experience. ❤️

@Rachel 🙏🏻thanks

I have given birth at c&w 3 x the actual labour midwife’s are all great. Third time round was not as great as previous but the experience was still ok. It’s postpartum care after you have given birth that’s it, not much attention sadly.

I had c section there 4 weeks ago and everything was great.

I had my baby there 9 days ago.Some staff were amazing,others not so much(2 to be precise).I was there for 5 days-4 were spent trying to induce me,ballon,pessary which didn’t work then they put me on synthetic oxytocin drip.I had an epidural before the drip and before they broke my waters which was amazing and I didn’t feel a thing after that.Ended up getting an emergency c-section and the team was amazing.The after care not so much as they are stretched for staff and super busy but I didn’t mind because my baby was healthy and we went home 2 days later.Apart from the two staff(one permanent and one agency not being great).Everyone else was amazing,the last midwife I had who went with is to theatre was the highlight of my stay,he was AMAZING!Overall I would say it was great however,do ask questions when the dr’s and midwives attend to you.Goodluck,all will be well ☺️

Super useful info ladies! I’m considering that hospital as it’s the closest (and has good reviews!) Could I check two things? 1. Was your partner able to stay overnight with you? 2. Did any of you get a private room?

I think it depends my experience was amazing to begin with - then a mistake happen that could have been fatal 😔😔

I had the birthing suite

Very positive experience in 08/21 and in 11/23
