Following as my little boy suffers from eczema

What's classes as severe eczema because my GP keep dismissing our efforts for dermatologist referral saying it's mild eczema but my daughter has back to back flare ups and does not sleep because she just wants to scratch

I’m not certain what classes as severe eczema and you would have to have supporting evidence from your GP. But if she’s having back to back flare ups and not sleeping I would say that’s severe. My son is like your daughter, constantly itching and the GP has noted he has severe eczema. I will be claiming myself and see if they give it

This is my daughter's face neck elbows and legs for the past month

Poor little baby 😭 she may be triggered by allergens? The GP just don’t always understand 😩 I took my boy private at 4/5 months and I was told to avoid all allergens in my own diet as I’m breastfeed and he was prescribed neocate formula and steroid cream. Has the GP at least prescribed steroid cream for your daughter?

@Zara my sister has suffered with severe eczema all her life and my mum had to fight to get her seen at a specialist and she's still under specialist care now at 36. I would be writing a letter of complaint to your GP and also to the NHS (PALS) don't give up and keep pushing. ( which I'm sure u are)

I will do thank you so much ladies

@Zara call the gps ask t speak t the ma ager and complain ur ass off, ask for the gps details that have been treating ur daughter n say your going t make an official complaint of negligence and your willing to take it further, keep reitterrating your daughters age and ur request for a dermatology referral is being denied and watch how quickly theyl sort it out. Its horrible to have t go there but it gets the damn job done! Good luck babe!

@Zara it's unacceptable that they would not refer her to Dermatology! My little boy gets it mainly in creases and unfortunately on his testies. It never looks as angry as your little girls, however the eczema on his testies makes him sooo distressed. We've just asked GP to give us a referal as we will take the private route and they happily obliged, while previously when it was via NHS they just wouldn't budge. I understand that the NHS is stretched, but these babies are just so uncomfortable and suffering and honestly GPs most of the time have no idea what they're doing. Our GP even prescribed oral antibiotics where there was no sign of skin having become infected (after a phone consult and a few pics I have sent). I then had to book an in person appt and challenge as I wasn't going to unnecessarily get antibiotics in my baby. The level of care in this country is so appalling!
