Can I wash second hand baby clothes with bleach or oxi?

Hi, I just received second hand baby clothes from another mom whom I know has pets in their home. I was wondering if I could wash the baby clothes with detergent and a bit of bleach or oxi? Just to make sure the clothes are sanitized for my baby. Is that okay? If not, what else can I use to sanitize the clothes? Please don’t judge, just really curious. I’m a FTM.

Yeah that should be fine. All i did was detergent with downy then soak for 15 mins and rinse twice.

I believe they sell laundry sanitizer at the stores ?

I wouldn't use bleach or any toxic detergents hun especially if it's for a newborn. Just soak those clothes in hot water with some baking soda and lemon. That'll do its job fantastic.

I do a short cold water no soap wash. This gets out any particles or fresh stains. Then a hot cycle with a small amount of detergent and a small amount of bleach from the dispenser with a 30 min soak. Removes all smells and all stains. 🙂 Just make sure you have enough water in it to cover all items though or you can get weird discolouration. Small loads with more water are best.
