Tomato Pseudo-allergy

Has anyone’s little one ever experienced this? It’s happened a few times after my daughter has eaten a tomato / ketchup. Will it ever go away? It doesn’t cause her any pain or itching, just causes the rash around her face which is as red as the ketchup! Wondering if I need to avoid any sort of tomato. It doesn’t happen after a bolognaise or anything.

My son gets it! Only with raw tomatoes and raw strawberries, it’s very different to actual hives which he gets from actual allergies. The doctor said it’s not dangerous but best to avoid as it can be uncomfortable for them. I just use cooked and have had no issues

This happened to my son once. After we used a different brand of ketchup and he is fine now x

My son got this after having Salad cream xx

Didn't know this was an actual thing both my older kids ( 12 and 6 ) use to have this issue when younger it never bothered them so never really thought much of it and they both loved ketchup and I wasn't getting in the way of that lol

Thanks all for sharing! I’m avoiding it at the minute can she has such sensitive skin. But will continue to try when she’s a little older! She’ll have to have Mayo instead 🤣
