Nuby rapid cool question.

We’ve been using the nuby rapid cool which is amazing to make formula feeds (tried to breastfeed but totally failed). The instructions say to put boiling water into the rapid cool and then add powder. The instructions on our formula say to wait until before the water is 70 degrees before adding to the powder. I’ve tried to find if it’s detrimental to my baby by adding the powder when the water has just been boiled but no luck- any ideas? Sorry for the rambling!

I have been adding the powder when the water is boiling and it’s been fine!

I add it when boiling and never had any issues.. the insulator is also really good and keeps water hotter the more you use it, ours is now still warm enough for little one to drink after 12 hours (which usually only happens overnight)

I don’t use it that way as it needs sterilising after every use. Just pour the required amount of boiling water into the babies bottle then pour out all but 1/2 oz into the rapid cool. Then just put formula into the bottle with the 1/2 oz ( to kill off bacteria) then you will have your cooled water in the rapid cool and pour back into babies bottle for the perfect temp bottle and no need to sterilise the rapid cool every time.

Sorry to jump on this but how do you sterilise the rapid cool? I have brought it to use when little one arrives xx

@Maria Murphy I use a Milton cold water steriliser so just wash it like I do the bottles and put it in there. I ‘think’ you can use the UV sterilisers for it but don’t quote me on that. The little rubber bit in the lid can also come out to give a good clean in the groves x

@Jennifer yeah we use the UV steriliser yo clean ours but going to do the trick they mentioned above instead of putting the formula in. Very similar to how the prep machine works x

I wouldn’t add formula to rapid cool. Just put boiling water in their bottle to the right oz. Then poor the majority of boiled water into the rapid cook and leave around 1oz in the bottle for a hot shot. That way the bottle is still warm but not too hot and there is no need to sterilise. Worked so far for me me x

@Charlie Gibson yeah. Very much the same, it’s a life saver for not having to sterilise every time. And my boy prefers his milk warm so it’s perfect x

@Laura nope as it’s boiling water just going into it x
