Little girl is allergic to Greek yogurt

Hi, I discovered yesterday that my baby is allergic to Greek yogurt, she got a quick reaction and it was less than a teaspoon. It was the first dairy product I offered her, she is breastfeeding, and I drink cow’s milk, eat cheese and every single dairy product daily , but she never complain in the past. I really don’t know if it is just Greek yogurt, or she is allergic to natural yogurt, milk, cheese…🥲etc. Anyone with similar allergy? What kind of tests the allergy clinic does? Thanks

My boys allergic to milk and other things but was discovered whilst breastfeeding as he was so unhappy and lots of eczema etc. We had private skin pricks done in the end

@lynda how are you coping with that? What foods can you offer?

It's a pain really. He's allergic to milk, egg, coconut and apple that we know off so I avoid those too. He just has alternative yogurts and milks in cereal etc. It has definitely made it alot harder. What was her reaction?

There’s doesn’t have to be an reaction through BM for there to be an allergy. Could be lactose intolerance rather than CMPA. I’d recommend calling your GP on Monday for an allergy clinic referral and/ or to see a paediatric dietitian for next steps as they all very from child to child depending on the type of reaction (we have an egg allergy called FPIES)

@lynda after gave her half teaspoon, her lips went red and swollen, lots of red patches over chin, ears, neck, and then lots of hives and red patches over her belly, I spread some yogurt on her leg, and she also got reaction. I gave her one dose of antihistamine and a bath to remove any yogurt from her. I contacted her Gp, and we’ve been referred to the allergy clinic

Have they had any cheese/ butter or pouches or anything else with milk in it? It gets everywhere. Sounds great your gp referred you so quickly
