Mount sinai west

I'm due in September with my first, and my doctor told me I should begin starting on my hospital bag now, but I forgot to ask what the experience would be like in the hospital (what would it be like, would my child's father be allowed to stay overnight would there be accommodations for him and everyone else?) I don't know anyone personally who gave birth at any of the Mount sinai locations, if anyone has any information please let me know what to expect and whether or not this is a good place to give birth. TIA! ❤️

Usually for any hospital dad is allowed in room until delivery, the maybe a limit to how many people can be there now because of covid. Usually, you are moved after to a semi private room. Dad has to follow visiting hours.

Hi I gave birth at mount Sinai and mount Sinai west is the best! They do accommodate the father he can stay overnight. You get 2 additional visitors

Dads are allowed to stay again but that's it after birth. His bed is a glorified lounge chair though so he will want a good pillow from home.

Just gave birth at Mount Sinai west in may and it was AMAZING. There is a pull out bed for your child’s father and he is allowed to stay with you the entire time. The only time he isn’t allowed is for the intake process.. they take you to a room to check you in and for those few minute he has to stay in the waiting room. They basically ask you if your in a domestic violence situation, ask you if you feel safe, and then check how dilated you are. This is standard in hospitals they said but the questions took me by surprise. Your allowed an additional support person besides him to be in the room but it’s max 2 people. I made small gift bags for the nurses as a thank you and I feel like it went a LONG way. I had a private room and they took very, very good care of me. Let me know if you have any questions :)

I had the same experience at mount Sinai west as Monika. It was lovely and the private room in their new birthing ward was really nice!

Im also going to give birth at the mount Sinai west for the second time and my first time only thing I didn’t like was that dad couldn’t stay over night I hated it I hope it doesn’t happen again

@Yumi Morillo Dads was staying overnight after the birth

@Brianna I was in a semi private room is that why ? I wanna know if I have to pay for a private one so he can stay over.

@Yumi Morillo I was asking all hospitals I kno are like that unless it’s a private room

I gave birth at MSW, loved it. Both my mom and partner were present during labor and hubby stayed overnight 🥰 Private room and food were ✨
